WONTHAGGI ARTSPACE COMMUNITY ART & CRAFT GALLERY

An exciting new Community Art & Craft Gallery was officially opened at 7 McBride Avenue, Wonthaggi on Sunday 21st October. As part of the Bass Coast Artists' Society (BCAS) commitment to its members and to the wider art and craft fraturnity in Bass Coast and South Gippsland, BCAS has acquired the former Bicycle Hub shop and has refurbished the interior into a moden art & craft gallery and shop. Following a packed Information Meeting at the Goods Shed in August, a committee of ten members was established and they met  weekly planning and arranging for a gala opening. The gallery is now open from Thursday to Monday 10am to 4pm. Policy and Application forms were forwarded to all BCAS members and to a wide range of art and craft practitioners throughout Bass Coast and South Gippsland. The concept is that applicants will hire wall and/or glass case or shelving space for varying prices depending on area and type of art work. The goods can be displayed for a minimum of one month and if there is no waiting list for the particularly area, they can continue for a further month. The purpose is that as many people as possible will have an opportunity to display their wares.
For any queries or a copy of the Policy Document & Application Form, please ring the Curator, Karin Ellis on 5672 5867
